Collections, lending and insurance software for South African lenders.

Inople builds DebiCheck collections, debt review, credit insurance and embedded funeral insurance systems for South African banks, lenders and insurers. Our leadership built a DebiCheck collections gateway for a South African credit provider that cut collection costs by 50%. We design for POPIA, the National Credit Act, FICA and PASA rules.

01

Why are South African lenders moving collections to DebiCheck now?

From 13 April 2026, the dispute window for South African debit orders fell from up to 365 days to 60 days, DebiCheck included. Disputes against a properly authenticated DebiCheck mandate are much harder to win, because the debtor’s bank holds proof of consent. Many lenders are now moving their remaining EFT mandates onto DebiCheck.

Inople builds the mandate, authentication and reconciliation flows behind a DebiCheck migration. The DebiCheck integration page explains how.

02

What has Inople built for South African banking?

Inople’s leadership has built an authenticated collections gateway with DebiCheck, credit insurance and debt review workflows, which cut a client’s collection costs by 50%. Our team has also built embedded funeral insurance for branch software, a cash-back loyalty engine and remote lending over the phone for retail banks.

03

Can Inople integrate PayShap?

Yes, as a capability. PayShap is South Africa’s real-time payment service, processing about 45 million transactions a month across 12 banks and now opening up to fintechs and retailers. Inople can build PayShap payment and collection flows into lending and insurance products. We have not yet delivered a PayShap project.

04

Which South African regulations do you design for?

Inople designs South African systems around POPIA, the National Credit Act and NCR rules for debt review, FICA for customer due diligence, PASA payment rules for DebiCheck and PayShap, and Joint Standard 2 of 2024 on cybersecurity and cyber resilience. POPIA fines can reach R10 million, and the Information Regulator has already issued R5 million fines.

RequirementWhat it affects in the build
POPIALawful processing, consent, data subject requests, breach handling
National Credit Act / NCRAffordability checks, debt review flags, credit agreement records
FICACustomer due diligence, record keeping, suspicious transaction reporting
PASA rulesDebiCheck mandates and authentication, PayShap flows
Joint Standard 2 of 2024Security controls, vendor oversight, incident response
05

Can Inople answer Joint Standard 2 vendor security reviews?

Yes. Joint Standard 2 of 2024, in force since 1 June 2025, requires regulated financial institutions to scrutinize the cybersecurity of their vendors. Inople documents access control, logging, secure development, data handling and incident response for each engagement, so your risk team can complete its assessment.

06

How does an India-based team work South African hours?

India Standard Time is 3.5 hours ahead of South Africa Standard Time. The Indian afternoon and evening cover the whole South African business day, so Inople can join stand-ups, releases and incident calls in your hours. For data residency we can deploy to AWS Cape Town (af-south-1) or Azure South Africa regions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What changed for debit orders in April 2026?

From 13 April 2026, debtors can dispute EFT, registered mandate and DebiCheck debit orders for up to 60 days instead of up to 365 days. Authenticated DebiCheck mandates are still the hardest to dispute, because the debtor’s bank holds proof of consent.

Can an India-based team work South African hours?

Yes. India is 3.5 hours ahead of South Africa, so our working day covers the full South African business day.

Can our data stay in South Africa?

Yes. We can deploy to AWS Cape Town (af-south-1) or Azure South Africa regions in your own accounts.

Do you sign NDAs and data processing agreements?

We sign NDAs as standard and can work under an operator agreement as POPIA requires when we process personal information for you.

Have you delivered PayShap integrations before?

Not yet. Our delivered South African work is DebiCheck collections, debt review, credit insurance and bancassurance. PayShap is a capability we offer.

Do you work with insurers as well as lenders?

Yes. Our leadership has built embedded funeral insurance and credit insurance workflows inside bank systems.
